With a B.S. in Health Science and a master’s degree in theology, Allie is equipped to support your family both physically and spiritually.
Allie has dedicated a lot of time and energy to educating herself about birth—taking DONA International birth and postpartum workshops, as well as volunteering as Labor Support at Emory Decatur Hospital in Atlanta, GA.
Making meaning of the life transition of birth has been the core of Allie’s academic and professional work in her final years as a graduate student. She believes that every family has the right to a safe and informed birth, as well as to feel empowered about their own choices. Throughout the pandemic, Allie has supported 8 births of families at Emory Decatur Hospital and sat with families in labor for over 100 hours. During that time, Allie’s clients have expressed deep gratitude for her presence describing her as “making all the difference” in their labor experiences.
Apart from her work as a doula, Allie has served as the THRIVE Coordinator for the Office of Student Life at Candler School of Theology, where she worked to facilitate community wellbeing through activities of resilience and rest. Additionally, she has taught yoga for four years and served as a teaching assistant for a human cadaver lab, both a reflection of her fascination with human physiology.
In her free time, Allie loves to dance, bake bread, and play with her fiery cat, Theo. Allie is currently accepting in-person clients in Chicago, IL, with special emphasis on the Hyde Park area. She also accepts virtual clients from any U.S. location.
